As a dancer and performing artist, Marie Simson is passionate about the diverse expressive possibilities of movement language. Since 2019, she has been developing pieces in dance theater, clowning, and performance in public spaces as part of Duo Kontrapunkt. In 2022, they presented their first larger work Ausgesetzt. The duo's goal is to bring joy and variety to the everyday life of the audience through a humorous lightness. Marie Simson expanded her work in recent years, especially in the areas of digital art (photography, video). In cooperation with the artist Shytan she realized two multimedia projects, and searched for synergies between digital and analog art. Through her collaboration with the performance artist Kat Brown, she gained experience with the movement practice Authentic Movement, which she later integrated into her own projects. As an active member of the association tanz*werk, she is strongly networked, especially in Kassel.
