In what way can I guide other people`s perception of myself? Can I even change how I am perceived at all?

And if I can deliberately and consciously influence perception, for what reason would I want to do so?

I have been continuously noticing patterns I use to act and react when being confronted with other people`s different characteristics. All influenced by the needs and desires of an introverted personality that carefully chooses what and what not to expose. Finally always realizing that no one will ever make it all on their own. And that the two acts of seeing and being seen are closer to each other than they might appear.
